Hysteroscopy Learning Syllabus finalised for GESEA4EU

18th July 2023

18 July 2023 | Recently, the GESEA4EU program announced the completion of its Hysteroscopy Learning Syllabus, which provides the knowledge and competencies required for taking part in or instructing hysteroscopic procedures.
Eight different courses make up the GESEA4EU Hysteroscopy Learning Syllabus, which was created to cater to a range of professionals and non-clinical personnel and ensure a well-rounded educational experience. The modules are broken out as follows:
Basic Hysteroscopy: the basic hysteroscopy module is primarily designed for residents, giving them the knowledge and psychomotor abilities they need to perform hysteroscopy in the operating room.
Intermediate Hysteroscopy: the objective of the intermediate hysteroscopy module is to provide residents with the knowledge and psychomotor abilities in hysteroscopy needed to begin basic procedures in the operating room.
MIGS Clinical Attachment: the Minimal Invasive Gynaecological Surgeon (MIGS) Clinical Attachment is a learning module where a surgeon will be stationed in one of our four pilot Fellowship centres to be trained in the surgical procedures of both laparoscopy and hysteroscopy in preparation to applying for the MIGS Diploma.
Digital Hysteroscopy Centre: in order to ensure the safety of the patients, this module will instruct surgeons on how to properly operate transvaginal simulators and ultrasound devices.
Hysteroscopy for Nurses: the goal of this learning module is to train nurses who assist and support surgeons during hysteroscopic operations in the operating room.
Digital Hysteroscopy Centre for Nurses: In the Digital Hysteroscopy Centre (DHC), nurses are essential. This training covers the organisation, equipment management, and patient flow of outpatient hysteroscopy for nurses.
Hysteroscopy for equipment operators: this course will show non-clinical employees how to effectively use the GESEA Training Tools with industry-provided hysteroscopy surgical equipment and the instructional curriculum provided by GESEA to improve patient wellbeing.
Hysteroscopy for Training Specialists: The Hysteroscopy Train-the-Trainer module for Specialists focuses on how to teach the hysteroscopy learning modules and GESEA exercises to gynaecological surgeons.
The dedicated GESEA4EU team is currently focused on creating standardised content for each module and finalising the course agenda for the upcoming autumn sessions. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting educational initiative.
