Your universal entry gate to becoming a gynaecological surgeon

Structured training and assessment programme

Why the GESEA educational platform?

Endoscopy requires both psychomotor and surgical skills. It is vital that these psychomotor skills are trained and tested in a safe environment prior to training in the OR. It improves patient care and greatly increases educational efficiency and surgical competence of the surgeon.

What is the GESEA Educational Programme?

Approach to Training and Assessment

The Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgical Education and Assessment (GESEA) programme is a structured educational programme for Gynaecological Endoscopy. It trains and certifies knowledge and practical skills prior to surgical competence.

gesea-knowledge

Knowledge is trained through e-learning materials available on ESGE Academy. The acquisition of knowledge is assessed through online quizzes.

gesea-skills

A series of well defined exercises on laparoscopy, laparoscopic suturing, hysteroscopy and robotics train the psychomotor skills of GESEA participants.

gesea-surgical

Surgical competence is measured through assessment of standardised procedures by expert review.
