GESEA Level 1 Certificate
1. GESEA Level 1 Certificate or Approved Bypass
Before applying for the GESEA Level 2 MIGS Certification, candidates must either:
- Hold a GESEA Level 1 Certificate, or
- Have an approved GESEA Level 1 bypass.
The candidate’s Level 1 certification or approved bypass status is verified directly through the Online Scoring Platform (OSP). Candidates are therefore not required to submit a separate copy of their Level 1 certificate.
Apply for a GESEA Level 1 Bypass
Experienced surgeons who meet the eligibility criteria may apply for a Level 1 bypass through the OSP.
To submit an application:
- Create an account on the new OSP or log in to your existing account.
- Complete all required information under My Account.
- Connect your OSP account to your GESEA eLearning account.
- Select Apply for a Bypass.
- Complete the application and upload the required supporting documents.
Applicants must provide:
- A letter signed by the Head of Department confirming experience in major surgical procedures in both laparoscopy and hysteroscopy.
- Proof of attendance at a recognised suturing workshop.
Each application is reviewed individually by the responsible committee. An approved bypass provides access to the GESEA Level 2 MIGS Certification but does not replace any Level 2 requirements.
2. GESEA Level 2 MIGS eLearning
Before participating in a GESEA Level 2 MIGS certification session, candidates must:
- Complete the required GESEA Level 1 and Level 2 eLearning modules on the ESGE Academy.
- Connect their GESEA eLearning account to their OSP account.
- Ensure that their eLearning completion status is correctly displayed in the OSP.
-
GESEA Level 2 MIGS E-Learning Certificate of Completion
The eLearning completion status is verified directly through the OSP. Candidates are not required to submit a separate eLearning completion certificate.
(2) three practical exams, LASTT2, SUTT2 and HYSTT2.
**Please be aware that not all of the multiple choice questions in TESTT2 are included in the content of the preparatory tutorials on ESGE Academy. TESTT2 also contains additional questions in line with the expected knowledge level for surgeons participating in Level 2 of the GESEA Educational Programme.
