Laparoscopy Learning Syllabus finalised for GESEA4EU
17 July 2023 | The GESEA4EU programme has recently announced the completion of its Laparoscopy Learning syllabus, providing a comprehensive set of validated laparoscopic exercises to enhance individuals’ psychomotor skills in gynaecological surgery. The syllabus comprises eight distinct modules designed to cater to various professionals and non-clinical staff, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience. Here’s a breakdown of the modules:
Basic Laparoscopy and Intermediate Laparoscopy: tailored for Specialist Professionals, these modules equip them with essential laparoscopy knowledge and psychomotor skills.
MIGS Clinical Attachment: intended to familiarise trainees with the ESGE Fellowship Programme, this module focuses on building expertise in minimal invasive gynaecological surgery.
Advanced Laparoscopy: aimed at Specialist Professionals, this module delves into four subspecialties—oncology, endometriosis, urogynecology, and neuropelveology—to provide in-depth knowledge and training.
Laparoscopy for Nurses: this module empowers nurses with the necessary knowledge and skills to support surgeons during laparoscopic procedures in the operating room.
Laparoscopy for Equipment Operators: designed for Non-Clinical Staff, this module imparts knowledge and abilities required to facilitate laparoscopic training and diploma sessions within the GESEA Educational Programme.
Laparoscopy for Training Specialists: this module equips Trainers with technical and non-technical competencies necessary to conduct training sessions for the laparoscopic learning modules, covering theoretical knowledge and psychomotor skills.
