Project Objectives
Description:
GESEA Training and Diploma Centres are using the official GESEA Psychomotor Skill tests (LASTT, SUTT, HYSTT) to test the skill level of their residents and surgeons. However, the training programmes adopted are significantly different from centre to centre. Moreover, additional local training tools are used to train residents and gynaecological surgeons. A state-of-the-art inventory is needed to map out the existing (simulation) tools and learning programmes.
Description:
Using the output of Objective 1, GESEA4EU will create a modular training approach elaborating the categorised training tools and programmes into self-contained learning modules to be used in easily defined training pathways, with clear learning objectives and measurable outcomes that can be translated and implemented across Europe. The modules will be standardised and adopted by all the Consortium partners and GESEA Centres.
Description:
The increase in digitalisation and complexity of endoscopic surgery demands an educational programme that takes all the actors into account. Therefore, it is imperative that the GESEA Educational Programme is extended to address the training needs of general practitioners, nurses, non-clinical staff as well as the trainers of the programme.
Description:
The learning modules as developed in Objective 2 and 3 will be implemented and evaluated in Centres across Europe for each of the target groups. Micro-credentials for each completed learning module will be offered to the trainee which will be valid across the different centres, hospitals and universities that implement the GESEA Educational Programme. For gynaecological surgeons that follow the complete learning pathway, certification will be offered.
Description:
One of EBCOG main aims is to offer Standards of Care for Women’s Health. GESEA Certification has been taken up in the EBCOG-PACT Curriculum which provides the European Policy document for the European Training Curriculum in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. As part of this proposal, we wish to investigate together with EBCOG what the next steps are to further incorporate GESEA in all relevant activities of EBCOG.
Description:
GESEA4EU will extend its reach by consolidating its existing relations with countries that have voiced their interest in GESEA (e.g. Spain, Poland, Romania) and identify new target countries to further expand the GESEA programme and to implement the learning modules locally. Each of the GESEA Diploma Centres as part of the Consortium will be assigned to a country to make this happen.
