DIGESTT Programme Diploma in Imaging for Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgeons
What is DIGESTT?
Structured diploma programme for ultrasound for endoscopic surgeons
Building on the success of the GESEA programme, the European Academy of Gynaecological Surgery and the ESGE have launched the Diploma in Imaging for Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgeons Training and Testing (DIGESTT).
The diploma curriculum fulfils the ultrasound practice requirements of endoscopic surgeons. It is based on the current best scientific knowledge and is accessible to everyone. The programme aims to standardise imaging training for gynaecologists and to accelerate knowledge and skill acquisition for endoscopic surgery trainees.
Imaging has become an integral part of gynaecological practice. Gynaecologists performing endoscopic surgery should be competent to perform abdominal and trans-vaginal sonography to establish accurate diagnosis for normal and abnormal, benign and malignant conditions. They should also have knowledge to read the CT and MRI scans of the abdomen and pelvis. The DIGESTT programme aims to provide the necessary knowledge and practical skills to become a gynaecological ultrasound practitioner.
Getting started with the DIGESTT programme
Your ticket to becoming an gynaecological ultrasound practitioner
The DIGESTT programme offers a pathway of acquiring the Gynaecological Ultrasound Practitioner diploma. It is based on three building blocks: knowledge, practical skills, and assessment.
Knowledge is offered free of charge through the Academy E-Learning Platform. Practical skills are trained through the DIGESTT as organised by The Academy. Assessment of knowledge and practical skills happens through an official DIGESTT Certification.
